online games for battlefront have dwindled, but on any given day, I can pick between two or three rooms.

it's my belief that SWBF's only got a few dedicated playing it still.

I think we need to condense everyone in order to bring about the new revitalization. I'm trying to do that at SWGC.

Anyway, Gamespy bought the rights to have control of the multiplayer games in both battlefront one and two. In order to play online on a PC, you must buy a subscription to Gamespy. Making the multiplayer support on GR would not only violate the contract between LucasArts and GS, but would also hurt GS's business as people would choose the free option over the one that requires a small payment.

gamespy wouldnt sell it to gameranger because they are still turning a profit from the game. Also, i dont know if lucasarts still supports bf anymore, and if they still do, it is so old that i doubt that they would alter the contract in any way.

Actually, you are wrong- GS makes no money off the servers beyond what they are originally paid to do the netcode for the game. You do not have to pay anything beyond game cost to play online.

LA probably does not give out rights because they do not want encouragement to sell a game they no longer support, and have people bugging them for support they do not give.

really? i heard that gamespy was a paid subscription, but once you had it, you could use the same account for any and every game in your house.... oh well, guess i was wrong
